Boston, Massachusetts shoe store. Timberland shoe
store founder, Nathan Swartz, began his bootmaking
career making quality driven footwear made to
endure the rigorous demands put on footwear by
men in the workforce. To their credit, Timberland
shoes helped introduce the injection-molding technology
to the footwear industry. Their modern shoe technology
fused soles to leather uppers without stitching,
producing one of the first truly waterproof boots.
Finally in 1973, the Timberland name was born.
"Timberland" started as the brand name
of the original waterproof leather boot.
In 1978 Timberland shoe store
added casual and boat shoes to its line to become
more than just a boot company. Timberland may
be infamous for their work boot lines but their
line of mens casual shoes is quite reputable as
well. As with all of their shoe offerings for
